0.14% increase in the CPI

The consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.14% between months in September, bringing the annual inflation rate down to 1.4% (was 1.7% in August). The CPI less housing decreased by 0.21% MoM and by that measurement, deflation measures 3.1%.

The GDM released its monthly market information report. Registered unemployment in September was 1.8%. On Wednesday, the CBI will release the minutes of the MPC’s last meeting. Also on Wednesday, the CBI will release its biannual financial stability report.

Landsbankinn lowers non-indexed interest rates

Following the interest rate decision of the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee on 4 October, Landsbankinn lowers interest rates on non-indexed deposits by 0.10-0.25 percentage points and variable rates on non-indexed loans by 0.25 percentage points.
