The MPC’s report to parliament was published on the CBI’s website.

Statistics Iceland estimates that unemployment was 1.4% in December.

The wage index in December was unchanged between months.

Arion Bank issued new bonds in NOK, Íslandsbanki increased the size of two bonds in SEK and NOK.

The week ahead

On Tuesday, Statistics Iceland will release CPI numbers for January. We expect a 0.5% drop between months and the headline number to decrease from 3.7% to 3.3%.

Macro note: 1.7% GDP growth in Q1

In real terms, the economy grew by 1.7% YOY in Q1. Domestic demand decreased by 2.8%, exports increased by 2.6% and imports decreased by 8.1.
